June is "free-key-a-day" month

So to keep things interesting and reward some of our users with free loot, we decided to give away a bunch of keys this coming month of June.  Starting June 1st, the plan is to give away one key per day, that's 30 keys in total.  Each day of June there will be a code somewhere on the page.  It could be on the spreadsheet, the text in the page, or even in the logo.  It will be obvious but not labeled "code" so you will have to do a little looking (you didn't want us to make it that easy, did you?).  The first person to email us here with that day's code and a link to their steam id will get a free key.  Times will vary as we have a worldwide audience (although I am giving away the keys and I'm here on the east coast US so late nights/early mornings for me will not be common).

Just our way of saying thanks to all the gamers who visit us.  Also, we will have some news on a site expansion coming soon.  Exciting things are to come.

  1. Ahem! How many letters or numbers that code is?

  2. There is no set format. It will be alpha-numeric. It may be 1 character, it may be 100. It will be obvious though.

  3. Ok! Next question! Can someone win more than one key or will it be one key per person per day?

  4. Yes, every day is a new day and anyone can win.

  5. I have a question it's a little stuid but what is the e-mail address we send the answer/code to? I know it's you all but what is the e-mail address? Second question how do we know we won or someone else won do you tell us on here or do you send us a e-mail saying if we won or not?

  6. The email address is "tf2spreadsheet at gmail.com". The winner will be notified via email, and added to a steam account of ours to trade for the key. We will compile a list of the winners either daily or for end-of-month.

    1. We've been slowly adding the old vintage weapons. It used to be common knowledge these were all the same price. We'll finish this off soon.

  8. When does the "day" start? GT +1... etc

  9. Day starts East Coast US time. So, when its 12am in New York/DC/Boston, etc. then the "day" has started. When its 11:59pm then the day is ending.

There will be a post on June 1st to go over the details once more, but there will not be a blog post every day signaling a daily code is active. There will be a post each day after the daily winner has been chosen.

  10. Hmmmmm! 00:00 AM your time is 5 AM my time! Damn! It is hard to wake up at 5 AM but also it is hard to stay up till midnight! I must be aware! I must win at least one! ONE!

  12. Is this going to be an annual thing or is this year's June just special?

  13. Le_Malem: the code will appear at some time each day, however, it can appear at any time of the day. Also, like I said it is not often that I will be up at 3am my time giving out a key. So check accordingly to your time zone.

Green Calc & Gordon: thanks! Consider it giving back to our visitors.

Tristan: So far just for June but who knows, maybe we'll do more of these depending on how things go.

  14. Wouldn't it make more sense to just have a steam group and do it as an event in the group chat

    1. Maybe if we do this again I'll look into that. However, this way we can "surprise" people when the code is on the page, thus creating some suspense to it.

  15. Will the code be on the main page or can it be in older blog posts/other pages?

    1. Good question. The code will be on the main page somewhere, never in past blog posts.

    1. After all the questions about how time zones work we thought it would be a good idea. xD

  17. I may have missed this in the above comments, but can you only win once? Or, if you happen to get there first, could you win on multiple days?

    1. Every day the contest is open to anyone, even previous winners. (now if someone starts winning every day for many days then it is subject to change)

  18. I am a bit confused when you say "code". Can you explain this a little bit?

    1. Alpha-numeric, no set # of characters. It will clearly be "labeled" so if you're looking for it you will find it.

  19. Wait so if I'm in PST what time would it be? I'm terrible at converting these things

  20. So do we e-mail you the code with our steam id? or the link to our profile? After that, if we win, how much time do we have to claim the key?

  21. Someone could just wget the page every 30 seconds and write a script to check for differences and automatically email the difference when it's found? I like the idea but I just hope nobody spoils it by cheating. Will you maybe add codes similar to code you're adding but in places that are not normally viewed?
